Fatima Jinnah Women University is an institution with a mission to promote and facilitate women with higher studies and research opportunities. It provides them a great platform to ensure their capabilities and abilities. Fatima Jinnah Women University has been established in the premises of the Old Presidency that is situated at the Mall, Rawalpindi Cantonment. Its building was originally built as a residence by two famous Sikh brothers named as Mohan Singh and Sohan Singh. Later it became presidency of Pakistan around the mid 1960’s. Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif inaugurated this university on August 6, 1998. Classes were initiated at Fatima Jinnah Women University on December 28, 1998 and the first batch of students were graduated in September 2001. Large number of students have been coming from all over the Pakistan and overseas as well. Between 1998 to 2008, more than 4362 students have been awarded degrees and employed in various organizations and institutions within the country and even outside the country. University offers residential facility to the out-stationed students. Currently more than 800 students from all over Pakistan are residing in 12 different hostels of Fatima Jinnah Women University. It provides ground for variety of extra curriculum activities as well to ensure hidden talents of our female youth. Best quality of appetisers are available for students.
