Christmas Traditions

Every religion and community have traditions, which they practised throughout their life, similarly each occasion have its tradition, and when the tradition is religious follower will make sure to do everything according to pattern set by their elders.
Christmas is the day for Christians, in which they spread peace and unity, they have lot of things to do for this day, including tree decoration, diners and make a good choice of colours is the big task, as each colour have its meaning.
The colours most often allied with Christmas decorations are green, red, white, blue, silver and gold. These colours have been used for centuries and, as with most traditions, the reason may be figured to religious beliefs and traditional norms. In this illustration, green colour represents everlasting life whereas red represents the bloodline of Jesus Christ. Blue is meant for sky from which the angels appeared and white represents the purity of the Virgin Birth. Silver and gold symbolize the richness of God's Blessings.
The traditional Christmas Eve Dinner has meals such as cooked rice, mutton or chicken simmer and is eaten before the Annual Christmas Worship Service. All the relatives, fellows, even strangers are invited to be a part of this occasion. The eatables also include variety of fruits and dry fruits.
The houses and streets are decorated with striking cereb papers, appealing lanterns etc. A tree in the middle of the yard is also decorated which is mango, guava or a cashew tree. Usually youngsters are responsible for decorating the tree.
Jolly parade is held through the streets that are led by local bands after the service is conducted and prayers are made. Gifts are also exchanged.
