Pakistan's
former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was banded by an election commission
from challenging the July 25 general elections from Rawalpindi, a day after he
was allowed to run for a seat from capital Islamabad.
Mr Abbasi
had filed nominations for NA-53 Islamabad and NA-57 Rawalpindi. Initially, the
election officials had rejected his nomination from Islamabad but accepted his
bid from Rawalpindi
